‘The Connection Lab’ event at the MOVE Congress 2025 brought together international partners to forge futures through play and formally launched the project’s new global vision.

Active Sister Schools is Officially Going Global

The project’s big vision was announced at a special event on 30 October, held during the MOVE Congress 2025. The mission is ambitious but simple: to help children from all over the world connect with their peers across borders.

The project aims to counter one of the great problems of our time: people are more connected than ever—yet feel more isolated than ever. In a world often defined by conflict and disconnection, children are even more exposed, and what they need are not screens; they need meaningful interactions.

That’s where the Active Sister Schools initiative steps in. It uses the universal language of play and movement to build real-world connections between classrooms and countries.

The Connection Lab

The special event ”The Connection Lab: Forging Futures Through Play”, co-organised by Dansk Skoleidræt (Danish School Sports) with V4Sport Foundation was a huge success.

The event was structured as an interactive workshop, allowing participants to experience the project’s methods directly. Attendees took on the roles of pupils and were guided by a moderator through an accelerated version of the process. This included ice-breaker activities like finding their “classmates”, learning common expressions from different languages through movement, and forming teams by collaboratively selecting a team logo.

The event provided an opportunity to connect with representatives from over 20 countries. It included presentations on the project’s roots, spotlights on teachers and dynamic group conversations, all focused on how collaboration can help children build friendships across borders.

A Model That Works

The foundation of this global vision is strong. Active Sister Schools is a pilot-tested model that works, rather than only a concept.

To date, two editions of the project has already connected 2,100 children from four countries: Denmark, Spain, Poland and Ukraine. The project works with over 130 teachers on the ground who bring this idea to life every day.

While expanding, the project will also continue its deep support for children remaining in Ukraine, which remains at the heart of its mission.

An Invitation to Join

A proven model and a bold vision have been established. Now, an official invitation is extended to join the initiative.

The project team acknowledges that it cannot get to a true global scale alone. New partners are now being sought to help support children in becoming empathetic and curious global citizens.

Expressions of interest are welcome from those who:

  • Represent a country where children could benefit from Active Sister Schools.
  • Have ideas or expertise to help make this a truly global project.
  • Want to become a project ambassador.
  • Know individuals or organisations who can provide funding or “open doors” to support its international growth.

This is an invitation to help scale this important initiative. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact: ass@v4sport.pl
