Registration is now officially open for the MOVE Congress Latin America, which will take place in Guatemala City on 23–24 November 2026. Under the theme “Activating People, Communities, and Cities,” the event will bring together more than 250 grassroots sport and community leaders, health professionals, policymakers and development experts. Over 30 national and international speakers have already been confirmed, with representatives from at least 15 countries expected to attend.
The MOVE Congress Latin America offers an excellent opportunity to connect with organisations and decision makers, exchange practical experiences and learn how different countries are addressing barriers to physical activity. It also provides a platform to identify potential partners and share ideas for increasing public participation in physical activity. The event will be co-hosted by ISCA and CONADER (National Council for Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation of Guatemala).
Guatemala will be hosting the MOVE Congress for the first time. It will also be the first time that the event has been held outside Brazil. Previous editions of the MOVE Congress Latin America have taken place in the Brazilian cities of Manaus, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
The MOVE Congress is the world’s largest international conference dedicated solely to recreational sport and health-enhancing physical activity. Organized by ISCA, it acts as a global meeting point for grassroots organizers rather than elite professional sports bodies. This year’s event will be held under the theme “Activating People, Communities, and Cities.”
The Guatamala event will be held primarily in Spanish, with selected sessions in English and translation support available.
