The 12th edition of the #MOVECongress2025 is now over – and what an incredible three days it was! With a record turnout and four out of five participants attending for the first time, this year’s Congress set a new high-watermark for the grassroots sport and physical activity sector.
A total of 899 participants from 62 countries and 210 organisations came together in Copenhagen from 29–31 October to share ideas, exchange knowledge, connect, and MOVE together. The hosts, ISCA and DGI, used the occasion to reflect on 30 years of progress, reaffirming grassroots sport as a movement that places values ahead of medals.
“The MOVE Congress 2025 is a testament to the power of our sector,” said ISCA President Jacob Schouenborg. “Around 900 people and 200 organisations came together to learn, partner, and engage to enable more physical activity globally. We are humbled by this record-breaking turnout and look forward to #MOVINGPEOPLE together by building on its success.”
Among the standout achievements was a deepening of cross-sector dialogue across a range of different fields. Experts from sport, health, urban planning, education and social inclusion came together to explore the many ways that movement can strengthen communities and individuals. As a result, the Congress sparked numerous partnerships with the potential to turn ideas into real-world action.
ISCA extends its warmest thanks to every speaker, moderator, volunteer, partner and participant who made the MOVE Congress 2025 truly special. Thank you for sharing your energy and ideas, and for being part of the movement that’s #activating people and communities around the globe
As we look ahead, the momentum generated in Copenhagen will serve as a launchpad for continued action in cities, clubs and organisations worldwide — turning inspiration into movement, inclusion, and stronger, more #active communities everywhere.
