Albrecht Sonntag

Albrecht Sonntag is professor in European Studies at ESSCA School of Management in Angers (France). Much of his research over the past decades has focused on the socio-cultural and political dimensions of international football. He was invited to sit on the EU High-Level Group on sport diplomacy launched in 2015 and was partner in the follow-up research project funded by ERASMUS+. He is also the author of a UNESCO report on the fight against racism and discrimination in football and has been engaged in two European projects on football and the inclusion of refugees in Europe.
