Gonzalo Vargas Llosa

Gonzalo Vargas Llosa took up his post as UNHCR’s Representative for EU affairs in Brussels in September 2018. He arrived in Brussels after four years as the Refugee Agency's Representative in London. Beforehand, he was Representative in the Dominican Republic for four years. He has also served in the New York, Panama and UNHCR’s Geneva headquarters, as well as on emergency missions in Pakistan, Darfur, Sudan and Libya. He studied English and Spanish literature at the University College in the United Kingdom and speaks Spanish, English and French.
