Mette Holm Rod

Mette is the General Manager of the DGI National Danish Performance Team. The first DGI team started their world tour in 1994, but since then at least 2 million people in more than 70 countries have watched the show. Through workshops, class visits and shows we are trying to awake recognition, understanding and curiosity with the message of “Sport for all – Sport for life – Sport for fun”. The team consists of 28 selected and highly skilled gymnasts from all over Denmark. We move the world, and regardless of religion, country, and culture, the benefit from sport and exercise will always be improved health. This is why the National Danish Performance Team is today a unique advocate of a health-related message. Over the past year Mette has been part of the development of the programme Move For Fun. The concept is a global pilot programme funded by Novo Nordisk and developed in partnership between ISCA and DGI, alongside local partner organisations in pilot countries. Move For Fun activates children in vulnerable communities.
