About The Speaker
Shabnam Ruhin was born and raised in Hamburg and her roots are in Afghanistan. She studied medical technology and works for Olympus, as well as coaching young girls aged between 13-16 years in football. "Most of the girls are living with social difficulties and have trouble finding perspective. We try to bring structure into their lives with soccer and to teach them important norms and values. I have been playing soccer since I can remember as a child and played soccer for the Afghan women's national team since 2012-2018. Football has changed my life for the better. My teammates and I have used football as tool to empower women all over the world. I stopped playing football but I will never stop to being a voice for voiceless."
