Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance President to show how to turn alarming statistics into action at the MOVE Congress

Did you know that 43 out of 49 countries surveyed by the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance were given a grade of C or less last year when it came to their children’s overall physical activity levels? And that 16 of these – including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Germany and Belgium – only scored a D- or failed their report cards all together? Why are so many countries lagging behind when it comes to getting their kids active?

Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance President Dr Mark Tremblay, from Canada, is set to join us in Budapest for the MOVE Congress on 18 October 2019 to kick off our track dedicated especially to physical activity and kids. The track, called Discovering new perspectives on physical activity promotion among school children, will use exclusive insights from the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance and Erasmus+ supported EU Pals project to show how the research world is connecting with the do-ers – the people who are creating solutions that get today’s kids MOVING.

How can we get kids who are born in the tech age to play again and be active in and out of school? And how do we measure the results?

Meet Dr Tremblay, as well as UNESCO Chair for Physical Activity and Health in Educational Settings Professor Uwe Pühse, Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance Board Member Jakub Kalinowski, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Project Director Dr Jayne Greenberg, and our Track Moderator Zoltán Boronyai from the Hungarian School Sport Federation for an active workshop that is made for people working in physical education or physical activity campaign and programmes for kids.

And if you want to see how Magnús Scheving embarked on a mission to ‘Move the World’ with his award winning TV series LazyTown – don’t miss his keynote speech in our Plenary Session on 18 October. It will be one of the most fast-paced presentations you will ever see!

Book your seat by Sunday 30 June to take advantage of our €250 Early Bird MOVE Congress fee.
