Planning your trip to Budapest?

The Budapest Congress Centre is hosting this year’s MOVE Congress, and if you’re planning to join us in Budapest, we’ve prepared some practical advice for your trip. No matter whether you’re travelling by plane, train or bus, we’ve got your journey covered!

About the venue

The Budapest Congress Centre, situated just 2.5 km West from the banks of the River Danube and the heart of the Hungarian capital, is the largest, most modern congress and meeting facility in Hungary. It houses 20 multi-functional rooms, and has 4000 m2 of exhibition space available that is capable of welcoming up to 2,000 people at any one time. While originally built in 1984 it has constantly been renovated to have world class facilities and state of the art technical equipment, to enable it to be a beacon for all manner of international meetings and events. It’s ample glass facades and airy interior allow for an abundance of natural light in the public areas and restaurant, and the chestnut park that surrounds the Congress Centre gives it a serene ambience in an urban setting, as well as – even more importantly – space to get moving and active!

Getting to the venue

The Budapest Congress Centre is located within easy reach of the city centre by both car and public transport, and transport within the city is both frequent and reliable. The extensive transport network consists of 4 underground metro lines, 5 suburban railway lines, 15 trolley bus lines, 31 tramlines and 178 bus routes. During rush hour it is rare for public transport to arrive at intervals of more than 5 minutes. The Congress Centre sits right next to BAH-csomópont junction, a major thoroughfare with regular busses and tram routes running through it that allow for easy connections right across the city.
