What are the big trends in sport innovation, what is the role of grassroots sport organisations and how can we future-proof sport organisations? In this MOVE Congress masterclass, participants will learn how to foster a culture of innovation in their organisations by gaining inspiration from experts who specialise in innovation, getting start-up ideas off the ground and design thinking.

Our masterclass “masters” from the French Ministry of Sport and University College Cork/Global Design Challenge will showcase best practices of successful innovation in the grassroots sport sector and experience from national sport clusters.

Part II: Interactive masterclass: ‘A Design Thinking Mindset: Starting with Empathy’
Facilitators: Dr Fiona Chambers, Dr Briony Supple

Our facilitators, led by Dr Fiona Chambers will provide a practical guide to introducing empathy into your Design Thinking process to increase and improve innovation in sport and physical activity by best understanding the target group’s needs. The session will involve an outline of the Design Thinking process, with a focus on empathy illustrated by practical challenges and a hands-on session to show the power of empathy in innovation in the sport and physical activity sector.
